RobVision devices

The RobVision Devices tab registers the cameras attached to the cell. It is a short tab with a large consequence: configuring a device here is what makes RobFlow's vision features exist at all.

What a device entry contains

FieldMeaning
NameHow the device is identified when selecting it in a Node or Widget
Host IPThe device's address on the network

Use Add Device to register one. Entries fall back to Device 1, Device 2 and so on if unnamed.

What configuring a device unlocks

Camera-dependent features are gated on this tab. With no device configured, they are not available anywhere:

note

If the RobVision entry is missing from the View Selector, this tab is the first place to look. It appears only once at least one device is configured.

Networking

The device must be reachable from the Control Unit, not from your laptop. A camera on a separate machine network typically needs the Control Unit's peripheral port configured to reach it — see Network and access.

warning

There is no automatic check that a device is configured correctly, Nodes and views remain available and fail at run time instead. After changing the network, or after importing a configuration from another Robot, verify the device addresses here before running a Flow that depends on vision.
